Joseph L. Graves debates J. Philippe Rushton on the significance of racial differences in IQ as well as the role that evolution and genetics play in determining human intelligence and behavior.

Dr. Graves is an evolutionary biologist who has a B.A. in biology from Oberlin College and a Ph.D. in Environmental, Evolutionary and Systematic Biology from Wayne State University. He is the author of The Emperor's New Clothes: Biological Theories of Race at the Millennium.

Dr. Rushton is a psychologist who has a B.sc. from Birkbeck College at the University of London, a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and a D.Sc. from the University of London for work on altruism in children. He is the author of Race, Evolution and Behavior: A Life History Perspective.

@kimkimble1 I have a more informed opinion on Graves work because I have talked to him directly about it and he has explained his arguments to me. It is true that in this video and in that article the focus is on Rushton's life history theory however Graves and numerous scholars reject the theory of hereditarians altogether on Race and IQ as pseudoscience. Perhaps that will be more clear to you in the other article. I will send you a link by email.

Once again, you’re confusing things. I mentioned that Graves critiqued Rushton’s life history, r/k selection, and population dynamics. I think you’re trying to give Grave’s argument more effectiveness than actually intended. He only showed that his hypothesis cannot account for racial differences. Trying to incite the idea that Graves destroyed the Hereditarians’ position is wishful thinking.

"The Pseudoscience of Psychometry." Graves dismantles the assumptions of hereditarian scholars and exposes their work as pseudoscience. Many of his arguments were brought up in David Suzuki's debate with Rushton which is also on Youtube. If you need access to the study I can provide it. I have spoken to Graves about his work via email to insure that my interpretation of his argument is accurate.

@kimkimble1 Again, if you think Graves critique is entirely centered around debunking r/K selection you do not have a full grasp of Graves argument. He clearly stated in the Tangled Web article that Rushton's data was inadequate for proving his hypothesis. What Graves proved was that human evolution has not resulted in racially distinct life history variation which is Rushton's hereditarian explanation for his data. The data is not reliable and the theory is not valid.

It’s correct only to you, not to me.Graves did not dispute all of racial differences listed by Rushton nor prove that these differences were mainly environmental.Rushton, as well as others, listed racial differences and some have proposed a hereditarian interpretation of these differences.Rushton proposed r/k selection,Graves showed that it’s ineffective on humans. This all suggested that r/K selection can not conclusively account for these differences.

@ThirdRAILKink White people do, in fact, practice those perversions. Certainly not all white people, but a significant percentage do. Africans are hyper conservative sexually so these deviant acts are anathema to them.

As stated, I was doing reactive and defensive posting. I would never initiate those comments even though everything I said is true.
