An 18-month-old Independence boy who was reported missing early Tuesday morning was found safe in Jefferson City.

Police said the boy was abducted from his crib by his biological mother at about 4:30 a.m.

Kenyon J.Y. Brock was in the care of his grandmother at a home at 34th Street and Fuller Court. Police said the grandmother had legal custody of the boy.

Police said the boy was taken by his mother, who was identified as Kassi L. Elliott, 18, and a man named Les. The man's last name was unknown. They were accompanied by a 16-year-old girl.

Police said Elliott and her two friends went to the house at about 2 a.m. to get something to eat. Investigators said they snuck out a back door with the toddler when his grandmother wasn't looking.
