Yeah, what jubalakne said, plus get yourself a good headset Metronome. I'm a piano/synth player, but I started on the drums, and that's what helped me most.

As a musician, you also have to work within your comfort zone when you are performing and push yourself in practice. The guys that try new stuff live, usually regret it! Anyways, you just need some practice, hours per day if you can. KEEP IT UP! DON'T QUIT! you're gonna be fine.

First Thing, Relax behind the kit.. don't be so tense, work on stick control.. which would be rudiments. which sucks but they work. Singles and Doubles learn them first make up the rest..keep it up man you don't suck just need some work..
