The issue of this video pertains to why it is very important for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people to make their VOICE heard in an ignorant hearing society. Turning off our voice and expecting hearing people to do the work for us will bring a very bad name for us in our community. We Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people must discuss political issues and get involved in political activities. In this way we will help make a lot of improvement within our community. If we do nothing about it then nobody will do it for us.

There will be an upcoming presidential (democrats) debates and I am expecting Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people to submit their own videos to ask questions to these democrat presidential candidates about issues pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act, issues affecting the Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing people as well as Hearing people with physical disabilities.

  • my brother is deaf and i can totally relate! yall dont really understand the deaf world. its totally different. you cant just walk up to them and tap them really hard, just like you wouldnt want someone to come up and shout in your face really loud. they make struggles each and every day and you dont understnand how hard they must try. i know, i experienced it with my brother. yall have no clue how it is to be or live with a person that is deaf.

  • I liked the video and I am HH and I agree with you ...I am tired of all the discrimination and oppression just because I don't hear too well...it needs to change

  • @coli8888 When I wanted to learn sign language, I was warned that as a hearing person I may find I am not accepted in deaf culture. I said WTF is that about?

Most deaf people have been good to me and I have deaf people in my family so I understand their frustration.

BUT deaf people, you are the SAME as hearing people. Do not segregate yourselves because of a minority of ignorance. MAKE people hear you. You can move forward more easily if you are lighter, so get the chip off your shoulder.

  • dude =( man i feel bad for you =,(

  • I strong agree with you. Hearing people reject me many times (Discrimation). Unfair treat me. Hearing people mean to me. Hearing people refuse to promote me. Promote only hearing people. Hearing people are very selfish!

Hearing use me or take advantage me for work dirty job . Wow. I am crying and feel sick because of unfair to me!

  • man this gotta be some serious bullshit you ignorant fucks are the one complaining so much when a hearing person becomes interested in getting to know some asl etc all you guys do is shun them off .. and then complain about the barriers etc .. i been to Gallaudet and ive seen it for myself .. so in other words stop living in your own "Deaf world" and step up your game get involved and stop fuckin whining

  • if you want to be heard, start by adding captioning to your videos so hearing people know what you are saying.
