"Sparrow Hawk" is actually an "American Kestrel" of the falcon family. Video is not quite clear enough for a positive ID though.

My cat once killed a bird and left the head and a claw at my doorstep :)

@Veganius This is what Nature does Idiot! going by your name, you probably live in a condo or apartment in the city and have no clue as to how the natural world works. You probably think all food just magically appears in the grocery store. Some people actually pick their own fruits & vegetables and hunt for and kill their own meat. I know it's hard for a tiny brained, animal rights tree hugger like you to understand. So it's better for the hawk to starve instead of eating the dove?

You people need to buy a bird Identification book, this is NOT a sparrow hawk.

"eated alive" are you serious?

@RajakarSLAYER So instead of the sparrowhawk being the bad guy, you become the bad guy.
@Veganius You're a fool...saying that he should've stopped the hawk from eating the dove is just plain ignorant. That's nature. Does anyone stop you while you're eating your food? No. So why would you do it to the hawk who is only doing what it needs to in order to survive. Get a life

@Veganius Big difference between a hawk doing what he is designed to do, and being mugged by a human. This is the major defect in those who equate animals with humans. Does watching this make me sad for the dove? Sure, just like lions/zebra. But saving that dove (probably wounded enough to die later even more agonizingly), would have only meant another dove died. No gain except to make yourself feel better. The mental gymnastics animal rights fanatics are capable of are unreal.
