I would love to see her perform any piece anywhere anytime............ Her talent is at that place I believe few have and understand.. there are some pieces I enjoy women playing over men and Beethoven almost all lend themselves to that for me No she is not perfect and neither was any other great pianist for that matter...

Ms. Grimaud has said that a wrong note played with Elan is heard differently than a wrong note played with fear. I agree with her. PS. The soprano is off key.

She's lovely, but I'm not keen on this recording. Personally I think she uses too much sustain pedal, especially in fast runs, which messes up the clarity of the notes.

@1810fox Yea, she may not be the best and she may be just average in some things she does, because nobody's flawless. Also, I don't have to like her little famousness to like what she does. I just don't think that tausend or more pianists can somehow "compensate" the ways of one.
This video isn't exactly an example of a very good performance either - not just hers - this whole arrangement just doesn't sound good.

@werewindwolf I love wolves too...and she is lovely... and she is a regular pianist...There are tausend pianist like Helene in Russia, for example...or in China...

She' is definitely a wonderful pianist, but that big boo-boo in the beginning is really hard to ignore. And as much as I love Beethoven's music, this is really one of the "show off" piece that doesn't do much for me.
