I just know few brokers, but all of them give discount and/or refund. And they're filthy wealthy :D

This was him back in 2007 and this is 2010, market is worst now. Also Brokerage like ZipRealty and Ready Real Estate are discounting their commission. Ready Real estate is 4.5% with Co-op being 3% and 1.5%. I agree 100% that 90% make the 10% money and 10% make the 90% money and that's a fact in every business and job. Not every Accountant, Attorney and Doctor is successful their respective fields.

I agree; in this market, anybody who succeeds in real estate is usually the one NOT compromising or discounting the commission. My motto is "you get what you pay for!" It's not that we are greedy, we just work harder!!

I'd never give my business to such an arrogant FATTY. Let's see him "never cut commissions" now that the markets in shambles. On the other hand, it looks like he'd probably enjoy eating crow!!! :-)

This clown's position rests on the erroneous assumption that discounting necessarily entails reducing the quality of service. Not true. Many full-service brokers discount. Shop around. You will find that the difference between brokers who charge full price and brokers who discount is often not one of quality but greed.
Come on man. How many people are upside down on their car loans because they just ask how much is the monthly payment. The don't ask for the total or even how many months. I should blame the car salesman? How about credit cards? just because they send me fifty offers a week. I'm not responsible?

Just to play devil's advocate, if you've been watching any of the flipping or house selling shows, you'll see not all sellers are so naive. How many times do you see them hiding faults, wanting more for their home than it's worth and out-right lying... Some homeowners do it to themselves!
