1. Ext. Antenna is self made φ100cm loop made from Hoola Hoop and Lan cable.
2. I sometimes used Lowe PR-150 (preselector and preamplifier)
3. Some videos are taken outside at night.

  • A VERY nice video, clear and informative, Best Wishes from Southern Scotland...Les

  • @amdxing Hello ! I have to correct my description. 6035kHz on the video is not likely to be Bhutan. I added a note on my description. Thank you for your comment ! And best wishes from Japan. Taka

  • Regarding Madagascar on 5010: As I have monitored, they are obviously transmitting in USB. It's also confirmed by WRTH ("at times in AM/USB").

  • @senderjaeger Thank you for your information. I agree with you. And this can help to tell AIR from Madagascar on 5010kHz. The signal which disappears on LSB mode is Madagascar.

  • This a very good video. I really like your channel to. Thank you. I assume you recommend this radio highly? Like the others my thoughts are with Japan. So much other news taking over in America. But I am not forgetting Japan. The Japanese people are in my prayers.

  • @snowpuppy77 Thank you for your kind words. Life in east Japan gradually comes to usual ones. But far from normal.

    I love both DE1103 and PL-660. Recently I purchased PL-310 at Hong Kong. It's also a good radio !

    Thank you for your comment.

  • Hi. Nice to see what my radio can do :-) .... Please, can you provide other video to see your antenna, and to see how you connected this antenna to radio? Thanks in advance

  • @NSNorfolk Thank you for your kind comment. I also thank the U.S. goverment and people for their devoted aid and help and support shown to the Japanese people.

By the way PL-660 is an affordable $80 portable radio but I enjoy this radio very much. Tecsun recommends DX mode as usual mode, but Normal mode or Local mode is better. And SSB reception works far better than Sync AM mode, I think.

Thank you again for your comment from Japan !

  • Very good review ! Good, sharp video and the radio is well lit and viewable. My congratulations to your knowledge of the SWBC Bands, showing how the radio hears real DX and the thoroughness of the notes you put on the screen. I was thinking about buying one and your video helped make the decision.

My best wishes to you and our wonderful friends in Japan as they cope with such a terrible disaster.

  • @dxNovice Thank you for your kind word! I know the government of Romania imidiately announced to give assistance to the Japanese government and people. Thank you.
