Yes, they are friendly pets :)
If your degu is alone, get another degu so they can keep company. Degus are very social and usually dont do well for long when kept alone.

Yup, some like being handled but most dont.
Mine got used to it :) Ginger and Accorn like being picked up and scratched, Nutmeg doesnt...everytime I put my hand down in front of her she is like "No way" and just ignores me :)
They are all different.
