HP 210 HD Broadcom HD Encoder Upgrade

If you've got the HP 210 HD then you'll be able to upgrade it with a Broadcom Crystal HD Encoder as they've left an empty PCI express card slot under the hood. Its well worth the extra $50 I paid for mine when I picked it up on Amazon. Unfortunately the HB-VD904 Broadcom Crystal HD PCI express Mini Card by Habey is currently out of stock. There is also no word on when its going to be back in stock. I'll keep an eye out and let you know when it comes back in so you can swoop in and pick yours up. This card isn't a full-fledged graphics processor, but it makes it possible to decode 1080p HD video.

Before the upgrade the unit was able to handle 720p off the hard drive but not on YouTube. 1080p could have used a bit of smoothing out as well, it wasn't quite a slide show but it wasn't watchable.

For the price I would pick it up, you can pick up an HP 210 HD with the broadcom HD decoder for $359 on Amazon

@crazyboss92 It's actually a little tricky. Everyone that posts online including myself found it tricky to take the back cover off. I'm sure this video was actually quite helpful almost ONE YEAR ago when people were looking for help on upgrading their netbooks and MOST FOLKS DID NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE THE COVER OFF.
