Aaja sanam madhur chandni mein hum
Tum mile to wirane mein bhi aa jayegi bahaar
Jhumne lagega aasman
Jhumne lagega aasman
Kehta hai dil aur machalta hai dil
More saajan le chal mujhe taaron ke paar
Lagta nahin hai dil yahan
Lagta nahin hai dil yahan
Bheegi bheegi raat me, dil ka daaman thaam le
Khoyi khoyi zindagi, har dam tera naam le
Chand ki behki nazar, keh rahi hai pyaar kar
Zindagi hai ek safar, kaun jaane kal kidhar
Chand ki behki nazar, keh rahi hai pyaar kar
Zindagi hai ek safar, kaun jaane kal kidhar
Aaja sanam madhur chandni mein hum
Tum mile to wirane mein bhi aa jayegi bahaar
Jhumne lagega aasman
Jhumne lagega aasman
Kehta hai dil aur machalta hai dil
More saajan le chal mujhe taaron ke paar
Lagta nahin hai dil yahan
Lagta nahin hai dil yahan
Dil ye chahe aaj to, baadal ban ood jaoon main
Dulhan jaisa aasma, dharti par le aaoon main
Chand ka dola saje, dhoom taron mein mache
Jhoom ke duniyan kahe, pyaar mein do dil mile
Chand ka dola saje, dhoom taron mein mache
Jhoom ke duniyan kahe, pyaar mein do dil mile
Aaja sanam madhur chandni mein hum
Tum mile to wirane mein bhi aa jayegi bahaar
Jhumne lagega aasman
Jhumne lagega aasman
Kehta hai dil aur machalta hai dil
More saajan le chal mujhe taaron ke paar
Lagta nahin hai dil yahan
Lagta nahin hai dil yahan
BTW, you guys had better stop the argument, that leads to nothing. I found yet another better comparison (nicked from a blog): Hindi & Urdu are as close as Indonesian & Malay. That's about it. (I even tried it) You can take a Malay text and jam it into Google Translate and *deliberately* select "Indonesian" as language. There are only a few things you can't translate, but you should get the meaning anyway. FOREIGN speakers will not always be able to make a clear distinction at all -- note that.

@poissondelamer THIS is correct...if you focus on *colloquial* Hindi spoken on the streets. It really borrowed lots from Urdu, that's a fact. That's why Pakistanis have no problem in Delhi or Mumbai in understanding people there :) Totally silly comparison, but it's maybe like in Europe, if Germans go to Holland they understand most of what they say =)

@poissondelamer You son of a bich you need stop ur shit with urdu.If u think the lyrics are Urdu(Even though they are not) FUCK EM. What about the music its made Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal from INDIA. You think pakistanis can ever make music like that I dont think so. You biches should be happy that we used your language in this amazing composition. We could have used Shailendra who wrote purely in Hindi.

@poissondelamer Abe chutiye, in Arabic, people of India are called HINDI...so even Imam of Mecca would call Ghalib as HINDI POET as Ghalib was from Delhi, India. ...not a Farsi Poet eventhough Ghalib know Farsi. Since Ghazals Urdu Poetry was mostly about ISHQ and SHARAB, both of which are considered HARAM by believers, Ghazals were dubbed as being Kafir by the true believers. Mughal rulers who first used this language called it HINDWI and then HINDUSTANI...later Urdu (turkic word) came.

@poissondelamer You Idiot, MADHUR is a Sankrit word, AaJA is a HINDI word, CHANDNI is Hindi word (in Sanskrit it is called Chandrama)...URDU is not really idependent languge in true sense..it is just 70% Hindi plus 25% Persian and 5% from Arabic and Persian. Read history...60 years ago, there was just India (there was no Bangladesh or Pakistan before that)...similarly before Arab attacked 900 year ago, eveyone from Agahanistan to Banglasesh was following Dharmic Religions like Hindu and Budhist

@punksking7 urdu is just Hindi with some persian and very few arabic words...English is still called English even though it has many foreign words in it (look up Oxford Dictionary) like GURU, PUNDIT, NIRVANA, JUGGERNUT, etc. Just like English won't be called a different lanaugage becuause it has some foreign words, Hindi, an Indian language, does not change just becuase you add a few persian words.
