Inger Andersen, the new CGIAR Fund Council Chair, shares her perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the CGIAR today. She describes her background working for the World Bank and United Nations, including extensive field experience in Africa and the Middle East. She also discusses the importance of strengthening the linkage of research to delivery for improving small farmers' livelihoods. Andersen was appointed Fund Council Chair on July 16, 2010 by the Fund Council.
