Very active thunderstorm super cell (cumulonimbus incus). Victoria, MN - Aug 8th, 2009. Spawned a small tornado in Mound, MN and Plymouth, MN which caused downed trees, power lines and some minor home damage. This shot is looking NNW from Victoria, MN

I was in Lynchburg VA several years ago and while in my hotel room trying to listen to music I was disturbed by what sounded like fireworks. I went to the balcony to see if some kids were just having fun to see several people observing this wonderful display of light and sound. I have never seen or heard another storm as active since. It actually sounded like the finally of a fireworks show. My guess was one-two thunder claps per second continuous! Wish I had a camera.
