My family came from the mining area of West Virginia. I have had family hurt. A long time ago back before I was born, we lost someone to the mines. One of my grandfathers had black lung and my other grandfather almost lost his leg. He had pain the rest of his life. My daddy left the mines and was able to find work in another state. Your song has brought tears. Your music is beautiful. Thank you for not forgetting.

Thank you for this song. I'm live very close to Montcoal, WV. Where they just confirmed 29 miners dead in the worst mining disaster in our country in over a quarter century. This song says volumes.
