My children are being taught with EM and it isn't great. I don't doubt the teacher in the video is successful with his students - he is a math major and enthusiastic about the subject. He would be successful with any curriculum. Unfortunately, in my experience, teachers who use EM are not math majors and are not excited about the subject, which is then reflected in the poor performance of the students. Also, why must we be offered the false choice of reform math or traditional math?

This makes a lot of sense to me. To understand why it works will really help the kids comprehend math.
