LCARS x32 - Star Trek Inspired Shell for Windows

LCARS x32 is a replacement for Windows' default Explorer shell. It is designed to be easily used with both touch screen and mouse and keyboard. Designed after the computers systems seen on "Star Trek: The Next Generation", it can replicate most of the basic functions of a shell. Currently in development, it will eventually be able to replicate the "Start Menu", "My Computer", "Control Panel", and file/folder management common on Windows based computers. Future features may inlcude an LCARS based web browser, as well as voice recognition and home automation (via an x10 interface). LCARS x32 is written in Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET) 2005. Please let me know what you think. Suggestions are always welcome.

Yo Ray, Im in big trouble.......I tested out the program, thought it was workin fine, so I set the LCARS shell to run when I restarted windows. Well now when the computer boots up theres nothing but a black screen, nothing. Dude, Im freakin out...you gotta understand I work online, my whole life is on there. Please tell me theres a way around this. I promise you I wont bother you again if you help me out of this...how do I undo the LCARS shell?

@Credithelper75 Hit ALT+CTRL+DEL and choose "Start Task Manager". Then click "File" then "New Task". Type "regedit" (no quotes) and hit ok. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Mi­crosoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion. In the right pane, double click on "Shell". Change the value to "Explorer.exe" (no quotes). Then, go back to task manager and go to File> New Task and type "Explorer" (no quotes) and hit ok. Explorer should load like normal. I forgot, Vista and 7 don't like shell mode b/c of UAC.

@Credithelper75 Make sure you are logged in, then choose a forum category (like "General LCARS x32"). You should see a link that says "New Topic" on the right hand side (just below the navigation bar).

You're my hero, and you will be that in a short time for all the startrek fans. Please tell me when and how i can get (buy it) from you. I really can't believe after years of searchin' it will be posseble to turn my computer in a real lcars terminal. mAke your own website and i can promise you a bunch of visitors, day in day out. I hope you keep me informed about your progres. I would like to expres me more but my Inglisch is not good enough.

It work!!! Dude Thank you so much, I almost had a heart attack, LoL I'm so sorry about all of this, I'm sure your sick of talkin to me. I'm sorry your program didn't work on my machine, its really cool. Maybe in the future you'll develop one that's Vista & windows compatible...I know those OS can be a real pain in the ass. If its ok, Id like to remain a part of the forum, everybody seem reals cool in there. Thanks again Ray, big time. ;-)
