Tool - Right in Two with two mandala pads.

To get all the subtle additional sounds during the tabla solo into the setup one would need one or two more pads, but there you go.

  • where did you get the mandala pads at? i was looking for them and many place dont sell them anymore. And nice cover, you go the mandala pad down.

  • @TonyRodz11 thanks, i got the pads directly from mandaladrumstoredotcom.

  • Dude you're really making me think of investing in one of these Mandela pads. Then again I don't guess you can stop at one, lol. Awesome job!

  • @jon00769 Thanks! I started with just one pad, and it really felt like "not enough". It was good to play some effects, but having one for each hand is so much better. In fact it was more than twice as good as just having one, if that makes any sense ;-)

  • @oddcourtneylovely The tablas are tuned to C (right hand) and A (left hand). In Battery that's -2st and +1st for the tabla samples. The high gong-like sounds in the 1st verse are tuned to D-A-F. Some samples can be a bit tricky to tune. They may sound fine if played alone but sound weird in the song context because of some overtones being slightly off. I don't have the Battery preset for this video anymore, but I remember ending up with some pretty odd tuning values for the 1st verse.

  • @thekillingjoke What are they tuned to? I can never get my samples to tune right. I know you said the song (key of D) but like what notes are they tuned to?

  • prety cool man, love it

  • good job good job.

  • very impressive .. you rock man ;)

  • I think that this is a fantastic cover, don't get me wrong, but i believe that attempting the tabla solo is something that shouldn't be attempted, i think it's a beautiful piece of music and although Danny did play it on his Mandala pads, he has had proper training on the tabla and attempting it without having background in tabla doesn't do the solo justice. Not saying your cover is bad but i think the solo should be left alone for the sake of the solo itself.

  • That is the best version of "RI2"

  • mate i really enjoyed this, thanks

  • Nailed it

  • i agree for ths mthrrrrrfuckers!!!
