Arlo guthrie used to do a song that went to the tune of Gloria (the church hymn) "Ground hog, in his hole he's fuzzy but on the road he's flat" or something like that. It was on PBS years and years ago form a show with Pete. I LOVE "Dead skunk in the middle of the road!"

There's a few songs like this - L W's Dead Skunk is the obvious one and that always gets a laugh (and from wildlife rehabers I might add!!).

There should definately be more of him on here! My favourite's The One That Got Away and People My Age (though I wish I hadn't looked up scrapple!)and by far the best album is Jack's Crows. Big fan of his!

he's a real songwriter..good// did u hear ..thats how legends are made...he wrote that for stan rogers from nova scotia after he died in plane crash..what a voice he had and john new it

Well, this is actually a nasty song! If the groundhog was roadkill today, the great State of New Jersey would not remove him... it would be up to the County or minicipality of the incident. "Progress."
