@potty5834 Right on,,mine is a gx280,,you can enable hyper threading in the bios..it helps a little but i will run hotter..they do make a kick ass mame system..but i was having some probs with hyperspin so i added that ati card.. ps2 and n64 run fine with a cheep card..all emu's are cpu heavy..I have had better luck running mame on linux with older hard were..but you dont get all the nice frontends like windows..i think the only nice one on linux is "wah!cade"...lol game on...

wow nice,,,i have had bad luck with the older dell gx (sff) line of pc's..they tend to die because of capacitors..i had to fix my mobo with a new one off of e-bay with newer higher quality capacitors,,than i add a lo-pro low power ATI card that i got off of craigslist for cheep.now it can run hyperspin with no probs.
I just wanted to give you a heads up with the capacitor thing..google "Dell Tried to Hide Bad Capacitors Problem 2003-2005"

@MrMassivemanmeat hey there thanks heaps for that info. Its an ex gov too so i wasnt expecting much for $90 AUD. If it does cark it I have my eye on the family computer to replace it, it shoud be capable of running psx and n64 emulators too :D. Ive pretty much finished building it now so I'll prob upload part 2 soon
