insane inferno belly buster off 20m cliff. this stunt is being used in the cinema released film "Bra Boys" movie. im not really happy about it because I wasn't contacted before hand about signing a release, or gaining my permission or anything, plus my ending credit isnt even right LoL. they have bin using my stunt in the promotional advertising for the film and I think I deserve something for my services. if Sunny Abberton who made the film aproached me beforehand saying he wanted to use the footage but wasnt going to pay me I would have laughed. but im not laughing now, I feel robbed and in possible danger to boot. I dont know who is to blame Sunny Abberton or Hopscotch Films who are a big part of the movie. all I do know is that someone should have done there job and checked up on all legalities before releasing the film. and my only recall is taking legal action because Sunny is crying poor and wont give me anything. so that leaves Hopscotch who I will have to persue. sure can be a dangerous occupation being a stuntman lol.
all this happened because I asked some young fellas down the beach if they knew where the really high jumping spot was that I had heard about and I wanted to check it out to probably jump the next day. anyways the next day about 120 people turned up to watch, alot of them were Bra boys and friends, etc. a few of them provided assistance to me, which was very helpful, and heeding my request not to be filmed while I was getting prepared was good.
the Bra Boys are basically a gang with about 200 members who are all surfing buddies from the Maroubra area of Sydney. they watch over each others back in times of trouble and help each other out and stuff. they have bin involved in the race riots in Sydney, a long running court saga involving Sunnies brother Jai who eventually beat murder charges, plenty of fisty cuffs, etc. so there no angels but who is these days. all I know is that I hope I dont become a target for them because of all this and the fact that I could possibly become embarrassing for Sunny worries me. I will do another stunt if he wants to make another movie to help out, but I want to be paid.
I had 3 cameramen covering the stunt and they had the same, so there was lots of different angles.
it was the biggest belly buster I had ever done from close to 20m high. I misjudged closing up quickly at the last second because the balaclavas obscured my vision somewhat and the extra height meant I was moving alot quicker than I am used to.
for a horsie to work you have to quickly snap closed at the last possible second before impact for a soft landing or OUCH !
I hit hard, thought I had internal injuries for sure, I was winded badly and the pain was very intense. I couldn't breath for about 7-8 seconds and then tiny breaths for a good while later. the local lifeguards tried to help me out offering assistance in the water, but I didnt take it because I didnt contact them and was surprised they were there. and I felt bad I was taking them away from where they were really needed on beach patrol protecting the swimmers in the surf.
the police detained me when I got to the top of the cliff again and interviewed me back at the station but didn't charge me with anything luckily. Probably because any court case would have attracted more media attention. possibly the last thing they wanted because I am an outspoken anti-war activist against the Iraq, Iran, Syria, Venezuelan, etc wars, rigged elections, inside jobs, civil rights issues, etc.
the scene with all the police standing togethor hides me away behind them sitting on a pole in my underpants. the girl filming me Rebecka was trying to get my clothes to me to put on, when she was suddenly ordered to stop filming.
My son Bon kept filming at my insistance and had the tape confiscated by police for a few days (more)
