@TheBigBlueberry9876 If this creature is like most Europeans, it can't tell the diffrerence between patriotism and nationalism. In Europe, taking pride in your country often is a prelude to invasion of one's neighbor. They assume it works the same here and of course it does not.
Pride in America is about obligation more than it is about entitlement. You could actually learn something if you did not seek to set yourself up as an expert in advance of actual knowledge.

Why be proud of beeing American? It's been proven from statistics that America is (not) the land of opportunity. Your the fattest country in the whole world, your goverment is corrupt, your population is stupid and believe in the lawd, but, some gifted people make good music from you country, nothing to be patriotic about.
