After Rudy flew to heaven on Good Friday 2007, his friends gathered to celebrate his life and their shared love . . . 70 of his friends! Wow! We laughed and cried as we shared the stories about all that he taught us. We knew what he would have done after he was "planted" - if he could have - would have been to take us all back inside to drink out of the punch bowl and stick our noses in the cake. With that thought, his friends - from toddler to adult - moved forward with our lives in our best "Rudy" style. We knew we would never be the same.

But, wait! His friends said he talked. So now he will! With the help of his best friend, Laura Hickey, Rudy's first book ~ To Whom Did I Howl and Other Important Answers: Why Did The Children Talk With Me? ~ is now in progress. Thank you Rudy for the abundance of love, caring & trust you showered over your loving friends. I still can't look at your picture without a tear coming to my eye, & the pain of missing your smiling face. But then I rejoice & thank God for your time here on earth, you were a blessing to all who had the privilege of calling you "friend". Mostly your mama Laura & the fragile hearts & spirits at The Grandfather's Home. I know in my heart that if Jesus were to pick himself a dog, it would be you.
