  • Most visual id detectors will identify a coin up to 6 inches deep. After 6 inches you will get a signal but the id may be off. In other words a coin may read like metal trash if its down around 9 or 10 inches. Many people dig every signal regardless of the reading for this reason. Also the amount of soil mineralization will sometimes affect the depth.

  • @absoluteblkade3 it will detect the high amounts of ore inside but not tell you if iit is a matiorite. if you think you have a metiorite and it has metal in it look for the 'thumbprint effect' on the outside. this is evidence that it has beenn hit by other metiorites

  • I just picked up one of these yesterday. Way different from my groundhog. I will spend some time and get used to it. 1890 indian head penny right off the bat and even picked up an arrowhead. I think I will like this detector.
