I believe its due to of course like all of us he has matured both as a man and a film maker. He dis an interview in 1979 and warned us against some of the trends at that time in TV like trashy talk shows and what do you know! He was right!

Absolute genius. Find his interviews with Americans who are on Death Row (and the people who pertain to their cases). It runs on Channel 4 in England. Its easily found on YT, and farrrr more entertaining and interesting to watch than it sounds like it's going to be.
