http://community.spiceworks.com - You know how it goes: end users who think the Internet is theirs alone, keyboard "accidents," and borderline psychotic employees who attempt to eat their monitors... okay -- maybe that last one is an isolated incident. But as hardworking IT pros in the trenches, you put up with a lot of shenanigans, and you deserve a chuckle or two. So in true Spiceworks style, we're here to wish you a Happy Sysadmin Day!

How about this one I got the other day from a user:
"So we sent out a mass email throughout the company and it contained some information we don't want shared, can we get it back?"
Maybe if email had just become popular would I expect this question, but not in 2012 haha

A stick of RAM, a battery and some binder clips. If a user could make a Morse code transmitter out of *just* these components, I'd let him/her wear my sysadmin hat for a day!

What I face everyday. There was this one user, who had somehow managed to forget where she saved her data or to save it (don't know which, but I think it's the former), and she expected me to recover it! What's more, she was yelling at me and when I wasn't able to fix it, she said "THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!" I was mad, and pretty much vowed to never help her again (which was just my way of saying "I'm not a miracle worker"). Nothing I'm not used to.

If only end users knew the pain they caused admins...and the laughs of course :)
strangest ticket i got was that a state website was down yet the user could get to all other websites, somehow that was something our IT team needed to fix...

Nice, I was actually bought a badge saying that by one of my users. Wouldn't let me use it on them the next day though >.<
