Today we are in the kitchen, and I show you how to make coconut kefir
using two different brands of kefir starter. I walk you through the
entire process. If you have questions, please feel free to ask! The
Yogourmet brand has 2% milk powder, so it is not a vegan option. The
Body Ecology product uses glucose, so is more vegan friendly, but it
does state on the box that there may be traces of dairy products in the
starter. Just an FYI so that you can make your own informed decision
about which you prefer to use. Have fun making coconut kefir!

  • Bunny, you should buy live kefir grains. Search for them on etsy. You buy them just once for under $20 and then they just keep growing and growing. And They're alive so that's gotta be better than the dry processed stuff. I'm waiting for my water kefir grains :)

  • @suebee411 I will buy kefir grains to make milk kefir. I'm not sure I can afford to keep coconut kefir going right now. 6 coconuts to make 2 quarts... that's like $6/quart! I'm looking forward to drinking it, but I don't think coconut kefir is going to be a mainstay for me.

Raw milk kefir on the other hand...LOVE IT, and I agree, I want to buy grains.

  • If probiotic lactobacillus can make the coconut yourt, will the home made yogurt too wp]ork as the starter work the same way? It too is live culture, & works great for making yogurt at home?

  • I was wondering what you are talking about, till I realized you are talking about kefir (kafeer). It is Kafeer, not keefer, like in keifer sutherland. What is it with the americans, pronoucing all foreign words wrong

  • i like your videos, very cool. When i get my body on track again ill be using alot of your techniques, have you heard about kefir grains? i hear they are more economical and healthier, i also hear that you can eat the grains for probiotics.

  • That was great, thanks!

  • thank yoy thats very helpful

    your so kind :)

  • $25 per box? Gosh, people are giving the grains away from free all over the world. checkout torontoadvisors (dot com)

  • great spirit......great video

  • Yummmm!

  • I know, I was watching your vid thinking wow! 6 coconuts for one quart!! ka ching!! Can you drink kombucha with Candida? If you can you can also make WATER kefir with just spring water and sugar and a couple of pieces of dried fruit (the little buggers eat the sugars). It is lightly carbonated and sour like a kombucha but is super cheap and is ready in 24 hours!!
