US counts the cost of Iraq war - 15 April 08

The Iraq war has cost US taxpayers $526 billion in direct costs and about $1.3 trillion to the economy, and with fears of a recession looming the war's economic impact is causing concern amongst US voters. Al Jazeera's Sebastian Walker reports.

Actually the war in total [from it's start till now] cost 800+billion. In one fiscal year, this is trumped by the amount we spend on social programs. "No child left behind" cost more than the war and so did the stimulus bill [failed] by our current failed president. Not sure why everyone is complaining. If X trillion isnt fixing our country an economy, what makes you think that 800 billion was going to help.

Be careefull boy last monday the second bank in the US was declared in bankrup and AIG group must to be rescue by the goverment before they going to the bankrup and finally my country have several comertial deals whit China and other countrys even more we can follow to Iran in a deal to get new technology to found oil in the mexican gulf but deal was obstaculized by your goverment anyway start to wake up everybody know that the USA economy is almost collapsing!!

First of all your country has no relations with the EU, second of all I don't recall your president ever visiting China or China making relations with Mexico or viceversa, and third, China's economy (believe it or not) is not as powerful as the USA's even now that our economy is in recession...think about it...If the WU doesn't care about some poor North American nation like Mexico, and nor does China, nor any other country in South America, who will you ask help to?
