  • Hi..I could not get the name of the metal (source) that is used as catalyst in the CVD process..

  • @krecian in this case it's iron (but nickel is also used a lot). But instead of starting with the iron on a surface, a gas of the molecule 'ferrocene' is used, a molecule with carbon, hydrogen, and one atom of iron in it. So the iron arrives in the gas at the same time as the carbon.
