A short video showing what happens when I switch the lights of my 1995 VFR 750 on.
All lights and functions appear ok but when I put my lights on the light is very dim, both turn lights on the dash come on and the clock looses power after a few seconds.
Using high beams doesn't change the outcome and the high beam light doesn't even activate.
However using the pass trigger/button allows both headlights to come on with no issues.
@2001Redtcat Forgot to update this years ago, the issue was the PCB behind the clocks had corroded tracks in some areas due to water (common problem on VFRs), specifically the ground track, so when the lights were on it played havoc with the rest of the dash.
I cleaned the PCB bypassed the corroded tracks by soldering some electrical wire and coated the PCB in PCB lacquer. 2 years on and it hasn't missed a beat.

The only thing I did was to un plug both bulbs, clean them thoroughly because they were ditched and furred up. Lubed them with a water repelant then put them back together. It solved the problem untill sold the bike . Hope this helps !

Hi there,
did you ever find an answer to the dash/switchgear problem. I've just got a VFR750FV with a similar problem and wondered if you could help.
Thanks

Dude. I've a 96 VFR and although my fault was not as bad as yours, my high beam indicator used to come on and only one of the headlight bulbs would light up. If you've chenged or messed areound with the hewadlight fittins, try taking off the fitting into the headlight bulb and cleaning, mine was filthy! This has cleared the fault. Best of luck.
