You can get the tabs I typed out for this song here: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/s/sevendust/karma_tab.htm
There has been zero progression with that band I was going to work with since my last video, so I'm back doing something I love to do, Sevendust tribute videos!!! I'm also getting close to starting production on my next original solo project.
Here is the the latest of my "Tribute Cover to Cold Day Memory" videos, Karma! This is easily my favorite track from Cold Day Memory, and probably in my top 5 favorite Sevendust songs ever. I've been excited to cover this song since the album came out, and am glad I waited to do it until I was at a level where I could do every bit of it justice.
The guitar is a Dean Hardtail Select. I switched out the stock bridge pickup for a Dimarzio Super Distortion on one of the two guitars used for this recording. The purple guitar in this video is still stock. I play through a Randall RM100 head going into a Mesa Boogie 2x12 cabinet. The Randall's modules are the Blackface for my clean channel, the Ultra for my main distortion channel, and the Ultra XL for my solo channel. The amp is mic'd with a Shure SM57 dynamic microphone. The bass is a cheap Yamaha running through a Line6 PODxt Live. The drums were programed on my computer via Drumsite. The background samples were created in Fruity Loops. Obviously I don't have the voice of Lajon, so I try to make it my own. Audio recording and editing done in Adobe Audition. Video editing and effects done in Sony Vegas Pro.

Awesome job dude, how did you get the drum track?

@Caseyc585 Thanks for the support! I create the drum track by hand, note by note, using a program called Drumsite.

@FifeXeno I still record the Randall amp with an SM57 like I did in my Splinter and Better Place videos, but now I add in a second layer: the old POD tone I'd been using the past year. By mixing in 60% Randall and 40% POD I feel I've gotten closer to the sound I want. Certainly sounds better than either on their own. In a perfect world I'd have better gear between the '57 and my computer allowing me to go 100% Randall. I wish everyone could hear how amazing the Randall sounds when I play live.
