Short collection of disagreements between my Bengal cats. The audio is the best part - turn up the volume.

Note: All cat noises are coming from the marbled female (larger cat) except a few meows from the little one at about 2:40. She often growls with her mouth completely shut.

  • I guess we know who the queen of the house is.

  • @SaeriJenn Yeah she's da Queen... and Drama Queen! She's even more irritable now that there is another female in the house - in addition to the male you see in this vid.

  • @sootikins Let me guess she was the only cat for a long time and then you introduced her to younger cats?

Yep. Older female cats who are on their own at first seem to be a bit more snarly about others unless they have a relaxed dominate or a submissive personality.

  • @SaeriJenn Yep, you nailed it. I got snarly girl "Sami" as a rescue when she was 7. She was the only cat in the house for about a year. She is very bonded to me and doesn't like sharing. To this day she's the only cat I let in my room when I sleep - she likes that.

Adding the new female (blood relative of male kitten "Hunter") has improved things a bit. Hunter has a playmate of similar energy level, they entertain each other and leave Sami alone. But there are girl-girl turf wars sometimes.

  • i'm guessing the one that bit you was just being playful but did it hurt at all?

  • @alienufosarereal Yeah, he was just playing. He has long since learned that he is not supposed to bite people, even in play. As a kitten his bites did not hurt but as he got bigger they got painful and had to stop.

  • @sootikins heh heh There will always be turf wars between cats, but they should quiet down after awhile.

  • I love the noise she makes when she eats!! My female is a lil' drama queen & makes all kinds of (similar) noises when fighting with her brother

  • wow

  • @mimisezlol Yep, once they've tasted human blood once Fancy Feast no longer makes them happy - heh!
