Yep - somebody had to step up to the plate.

@2BunnyReturns *sigh* True true. Ironically I see alot of WinMo's traits in Android. (ROM flashing, custom home screen plugins, multiple device support etc) so I guess it wouldn't be THAT bad of an alternative for a WinMo veteran. Unless MS gives up on WP7 like HP gave up on WebOS, I'll never get an Android device. I just wish I could access the underlying Windows CE interface on WP7 so I can hack around and make my phone feel nerdy like my WinMo device did lol. They somehow did it on the ZuneOS

Definitely not. Depending on how far the hardware leaves the software behind the way it is, I might just be forced to go with Android. It's not fantastic, but (while it isn't quite like Windows Mobile) it is a start.

@2BunnyReturns No hope in WP7 being your next upgrade whenever that might be?

does this phine require the data plan?

I've been there. In an attempt to get a lens out of a Nintendo Wii DVD drive, I tore a ribbon cable there too. I really don't feel like my next upgrade needs to be until next year or the year after. By then, the only hardware left will be Android. In the meantime, I plan on just fixing up the Diamond.

@2BunnyReturns Last time I attempted to fix a messed up touch screen was back when I had a HTC Wizard, and I ended up ripping one of the wire ribbons and eventually bricking the phone. I'm not going down that path again lol I'll probably just get another TP2 around the holidays from eBay. And yeah I have an account with PPCGeeks and XDA, but I only used it to download CAB files. My username is Kweezy157

I actually broke my touch panel on my Diamond and might be buying a new one on eBay - they're only $6, I'd imagine it might be a similar cost for the touch pro.
Are you a member on PPCGeeks?
