The Hoyas-Red Men rivalry of the 80's was almost as good as the Redskins-Giants rivalry then
-
Oh yeah...thats the game when John Thompson wore his version of Lou Carnesecca's colorful lucky sweater.
-
The Hoyas were class of the Big East in the early and mid 80's
-
Georgetown vs St Johns was the premier rivalry in the Big East & it might still be

Rupp arena was cheering i think because georgetown destroyed kentucky in the previous years final four. But, the truth is,mcclain was a cheater.Massimino knew, his teammates knew.He had to maintain his stamina, dealing with the hoyas full court press...now we know why.Georgetown played their hearts out,did it the right way. They have been had by cheaters known as the ncaa

This games were classic! They were Timeless! This was an Era of GTown Dominace in the toughest Conference in the entire nation! I loved Rafferty commintating the rivaly of all the teams night in and night out. I must agree Michael Graham was a GROWN DAM MAN! You talking about a Intimindator of all Intimidators! Graham woke up looking forward to slapping the Sh!T out of an opposing player. Ask Ed Pinkey in his SI interview who he feared on GTown! Heres a hint it was Patrick Ewing!
if michael graham stayed on the hoya's for the 84-85 season. they would have repeated and villanova would not have won
