@Adaviri This is first and foremost a score. It was specifically written for a ballet. It is "blatantly sentimental" for a reason; he wasn't trying to be subtle.

@Adaviri cool story bro

I'd love to be able to take this seriously, but I can't. Repetitive, unimaginative and blatantly sentimental - I can appreciate the attempt at 'hopeful melancholy', but Richter goes way too far here. Too obvious and violent to be adequately minimalistic, yet too simple to be anything 'more'. As a film score this would probably be quite effective, but as a purely audial experience barely so-so.

I have't cried about anything in the last 7 years. The only thing that me make me shed a tear is music like this.

I like to listen to this when I'm doing science.

I can think of a time that the Earth will have days this short and this precise. Days that will overwhelm you with satisfaction of sincerity. Days that are whole and not forgotten. Days with events parallel to the joy that this bestows. Days with elements as light a feathers. Days in which love and passion are the counter balances. ...THEN "LAST DAYS"!
My words are all stripped bare..... an utterly beautiful tune (and album)..........
