http:www.pitching.com Improving pitching mechanics is the secret to improving velocity. It is not about arm strength or more weight room strength. This college pitcher, after a video analysis, improved from 82-84 mph to 90 mph by making some mechanical changes. He improved his forward momentum and his lower body mechanics. But as you can see from this video, he can improve even more and maybe get to 95 mph.
If you want to improve velocity check out more of our free videos on our website and check out our instructional DVD's. If you are a college pitchers you should consider a video analysis. http://www.pitching.com
Excellent dissection of mechanics..

Hey leftydm can you take a look at my video and comment what mechanics I need to work on? I think my leg drive and early rotation r in need of work but I wanted your advice

@kukasdesigns Actually, Bard shows an M, but it's not as pronounced as the college pitcher.

@realhardheaded the M: if your elbows are above your shoulders, you're adding stress to your scapula, and shoulders which in turn increases the chances of a rotator cuff injury ten-fold.
The W would imply that your elbows are at shoulder height or below.
The college pitcher in this video shows the M, whereas Bard shows a W.

@SharkAttackProd what an absurd statement

is it the m or the w that puts more stress on the arm?

If you like these mechanics go watch Matt Moore's first ALDS pitch. Best view of raw velocity being produced that ive ever seen.

I've respect for those that can hit a legit 90+mph. Not as easy as it looks.
It really is an art form to time the rotation and torque points to achieve a toss at that speed.
As Bert Blyleven would say, the pitcher is the most trained and strained athlete on the field. I believe it.
