Entrelac is a cool knitting technique that looks like woven blocks of color. We're using a pattern by Allison LoCicero from frecklesandpurls.com.

  • where can we find a row counter. I'm fairly new at knitting and think this would help alot!

  • You can just mark tally marks on a piece of paper if you don't have a row counter, but they are inexpensive and widely available at yarn and craft shops.

  • Thanks for all of the exccellent videos, love that you dipped your wool in your coffee as I have done the same thing and it gave me a good laugh. Ok I have wanted to learn this for ages and found it pretty easy to do, with your insruction of course. I was wondering is it really nessasary for the row counter as you can only go so far with connecting the stiches together (2 tog, ssk). It seems that it is its own guide of the number of rows done, does anyone else feel this way?

  • You're right - it's easy to work this pattern without a row counter after you get a feel for it. I do suggest counting rows for at least a couple of tiers until you're comfortable with how it all comes together.

  • I'm having trouble getting hold of noro locally in the UK, can you suggest any other yarns giving the same effect?

Thanks, this scarf is so beautiful.

  • In this video, I’m using a yarn called “Classic Shades” by a company called Universal Yarns. It’s an inexpensive alternative to Noro yarns, which you may be able to find in the UK. You can also ask at your local yarn store for any "long strand dyed" yarn suggestions. Hope that helps!
