@vinceleto Another really nice machine, rarely seen, is a Yamaha. Stupid price, just like Honda. Lots of Hondas can be had for a good price after they break though.

@PyeColin Probably too late a reply but you have to separate the auger/blower from the chassis. Then you have access to the belt guides that are at the bottom of the pulleys. They have to be removed to put a new belt in position.

These were rated at 18 tons an hour or something like that. The only design shortcoming was that the front auger housing was a little light in structure and if you were wrestling chunky snow you could bend the sides. Keep the friction disc shaft greased with some grease that sticks well. The shaft and the disc hub are no longer available from Honda.

@george230 Bought a Ariens Deluxe 30 last February. Nice engine...but the Deluxe 30 won't go in a straight line. The front end wants to wander all over the place even after adjusting the shoes. If there is a lot of snow at the end of the driveway it wants to ride up the snow. If there is packed snow due to tires, i have know idea where its going to go. Getting old JD repaired. It tracks straight and plows through the snow, not over it.

How does one change the belts on this rig?

Nice Honda. Honda's are the best. Ariens and Toro's are great too followed by MTD's which are at a great price. With that said check out my 18 year old re-powered MTD with a Honda clone engine. OHV engines seem to produce greater RPM's giving you greater throwing disance

I'll stick with my 2009 Ariens 30" Deluxe. It is and always will be a beast! Now, don't get me wrong, I know Honda snow throwers are good quality machines, especially the HS1132TAS, but at around $3400USD as opposed to $1300 for my Ariens, like I said I'll take my Ariens any day! Especially snowy days!...lol!

After getting one, neighboors will offer alot blowjobs at winter.

I have one of these and I believe it is a 1989. It is the nastiest badass machine ever. My neighbor has a 32" deere and this thing destroys it. I have had snow coming over the top of it with the chute blowing right up through it and it just keeps going. If something stops it the belt doesn't slip it just digs the tires down into my stone drive. Anyone who even dreams of comparing this to an ariens has never used a honda. My neighbor didn't get it until his broke down and he borrowed mine
Wheres the blower for the Cub?? I'd rather sit and blow snow than walk behind.

Glad you asked. I'm probably going to put the blower on the cub later this week. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Although I feel kind of bad about it, because in this light fluffy snow the single stage blower for the cub outthrows this honda by far. But it very wet or icy snow, this honda saves the day. Once I get the blower on the cub I'll make a vid.

dosent look like it throws further than an ariens buddy:(

Not only does it outthrow my neighbor's ariens, it does it with two less horsepower. And even after 15 or so years, it still starts easier than theres pretty much all of the time. Honda's are about tops when it comes to snowblowers, too bad the new ones are so expensive.

sounds sweeet that pup looks older tho

Yeah it was made in the late 80's, but still is an awesomely powerful snowblower. It was designed well, with a good intake size for the horsepower, allowing it to eat through basically anything and still throw it a very significant distance.
