  • Wow! I never want to be out during a hurricane.

  • why wouldnt u stay there thats the thrill of being a storm chaser so u LEAVE

  • Right: people don't really know what a storm surge is. An approaching hurricane sweeps the tides OUT. The stronger the winds, the bigger the tidal ebb. As it makes landfall, all of that

SWEEPS BACK, in a huge storn surge.

  • no, its is a rush. its amazing.

  • The much lower percentage does not mean squat, it means that there is still a chance that something can still happen. Nowhere is really safe.

  • lol, i was kind of trying to be funny cause i just meant that for katrina in particular. im from biloxi so i've been through a few hurricanes that didn't do collosal damage. when katrina hit i was away at college and my brother thought that since we had never had a bad hurricane before he could just ride katrina out. and like i said in my first reply: HE DID NOT WANT TO BE THERE, lol.

  • there are thousands of towns and cities in the USA with MUCH LOWER percentage rates of being blown off the map every summer.

  • I know this is gonna be a very hard question for you. Expecially when you have a lack of brain cells. But if you tell people to move from their homes to avoid the hurricanes. Where the hell are they suppose to move to? Every where on the planet you have the threat of a natural disaster. Are they suppose to move to space stations in the atmosphere? Even there you have the threat of something bad happening.

  • I can't even start to imagine being in a building or anywhere during a storm surge due to a major hurricane. One of my worst fears is drowning.
