Tabs the kitten

This is Tabs, 1 of 3 siblings kindly accepted by SPCA to be assessed for chance of rehoming. Unfortunately, according to SPCA staff, he deteriorated in the past few days, eating little, having diarrhoea and losing weight.

On Fri afternoon, we were asked if we wanted to take him back or have him put down as he was "not eating, passing out mucous instead of faeces and limp".

We decided we will take him back and sent to a vet to give him at least a fighting chance. This is his condition on Sat morning when I picked him up. Tell me, does he look like he should be put down already?
