hi would u possibly upload some videos of your grunow 660? i have a model 801 at the moment ant there just such wonderful pieces

in the distant future, we'll all have stereophonic wireless sets no bigger than a briefcase
-
It will be safer if you isolate everything but this will usually introduce noise into the oscilloscope.

I found its bad engineering practice to isolate the earth from the scope using an isolating transformer.
Can you please confirm this:
Connecting a hot chassis device to mains via an isolating transformer allows the operator to use an oscilloscope safely. ie using probe GND clip WITHOUT using the differential measuring technique and isolating transformer on the scope?
Thanks.

You could use two. One for the open exposed chassis is good. And standing on a nonconductive dry rubber pad is also a good idea.
-
Do you also need to connect an isolating transformer to the scope as well as the radio under test?

I have a closet full of radio programs. That is one reason for building the AM transmitter.

LOL!! It is very good quality, but of course Im prejudice.
Excellent video! This is exactly what I was looking for since I'd like to start to debug my Grunnow 660 with an osc. Is there anything specific I need to look for when buying an osc for radio debugging (ie high voltage work)? Like bandwidth requirements (15 GHz OK?), max input voltage, max input current etc? Thanks again!!

Thanks. You would want a signal generator that would produce the Intermediate Frequency for your radio. You may want to check out the Navy Electronic Course video, there is a link to the free download webpage.
