The number of uninsured children in Nevada is on the rise, especially as the states unemployment rate increases. Thats where the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) comes in. Called Nevada Check-Up in our state, CHIP ensures that children can see a doctor when they need one. Nevada Senator Harry Reid today discussed the importance of strengthening CHIP and the impact it will have in our state, where more than 115,000 children are without health care. In leading the Senate toward passage of this bill, Reid will ensure that those children get the care they need when they are sick and the check-ups they need to stay well.
