Being slain is REAL, it's just demonic. I used to think it was God, but I was wrong.
It's something spiritual, so I can't explain it to you, especially if you are someone that isn't sensitive to the spiritual realm.
It's kinda like telling someone that has never had an orgasm understand what an orgasm feels like. You just have to expirience it to understand.
All I can say is that it feels intense, hot, and you feel light as a feather when you fall.

I was at my grandmothers house and it was the middle of the night. I had trinity broadcasting network on the television{christian programing}. This is your Day came on the air, Benny Hinn's program, and as soon as it came on the air I hit the floor. Instantly I went from walking through the kitchen to being laid out on a tile floor. I hit hard but felt no pain. I tried to get up but was physicaly held down by the Holy Spirit. At that exact time Benny was shouting "givetheLordamightyshoutofprai

Slain means to die yes, but slain in this sense ,means you die to God at a touch of His Spirit. Your flesh totally has to bow and give way as it is not as strong as your spirit, so it gets out of the way of the power of God untill Gods anointing lifts. Dont criticize what you havent experienced yet ecause of your scepticism, seek god harder and you can experience The fullness of The Holy Spirit with the fulfilling/ indwelling of the Holy Ghost and tongues of different language. Do some research.

I am a born-again Christian. No where in the Bible does it talk about being slain in the spirit. First of all, the word "slain" means killed (makes no sense). Jesus or His diciples did not practice this. I have seen people healed and other miracles, but not this. Everything should line up with the word of God. If it is not in the Bible, be careful.

Funny, I have read the KJV of the Holy Bible a few times and not once did it say anything about "Slain in the spirit". But when Jesus talked about if you have Faith the mountain will be removed to the sea. He wasn't talking about a literal mountain, He was talking about thing that happen in your life. If you have Faith that thing will be removed. I know as far as Spiritial Healing goes. It happens all the time. Read the book "90 minutes in heaven" by Don Piper

Thats the problem "regardless of what you've said..." V[re70 . There is nothing that can be said to you.

I'm no Christian, but I know a few intellectual Christians with a keen interest in Theology who would tell you that nowhere is being slain in the spirit in existence in the Bible. And on the other half, people like Derren and psychologists can list a myriad of reasons as to why such things occur, such as suggestion, expectation, and collective experience

The power of suggestion is a very, very wonderful (and powerful) thing.
that is complete crap. If you have never experienced the real power of God then don't say anything about what you don't know.

dude, that is why charismatics don't have any credibility - they won't accept any outside criticism and they won't seriously critique themselves.

It's the power of suggestion but plenty of pentecostal types will swear there's more to it than that. But the only evidence they can give is the forcefulness of their own personal experience. I don't think they quite believe that a false experience can seem just as real as a true one. "It seemed so real, it couldn't be fake" is a common fallacy I hear. I grew up in the Pentecostal movement. I once believed I could "speak in tongues". The mind is a powerful thing!

Yeah, I hear you TMG, I spent over 20 years in the charismatic movement....the conclusion I eventually came to is that a very high percentage could be explained by group dynamics & psychological phenomena.
