Studio Banana TV interviews Esther Pizarro, a prominent figure of contemporary Spanish conceptual sculpture.
Esther Pizarro (Madrid, 1967) studied in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Alcala, where she undertook a doctorate in Fine Arts on the concept of the space in Philosophy and its application to the sculpture. Later she obtained a Fullbright scholarship in Los Angeles, where she initiated studies on the city. Then she was in the Academy of Spain in Rome and the College of Spain in Paris. Her relationship with the urban frameworks has shaped itself throughout her artistic race in different works, in which she has entered herself in an investigation that is evolving. Her latest works have derived towards a study of the landscape that hints us not only to a city in particular, but to the human being who belongs to this landscape. A reflection on the industrial landscapes and the communications networks.
