I am just a mere human with a human heart and a whole bunch of empathy. To imagine myself in such a place as Heaven, knowing that there would be people, and even loved ones burning in the lakes of fire, for eternity would be HELL for me!

  • @XxEpikdudexX because you capitalize every fucking word like a moron. god hates people who do stupid shit like that and he dont want it in heaven.

  • If God Loves You Why Does He Send You To Hell To Spend An Eternity In Pain And Suffering?

  • The concept of hell/lake of fire is practically the most immoral and evil concept. Such a place could not possibly be even hypothetically justifiable.

  • Contempt is seeing someone as inferior or worthless. Which is pretty weird as God is supposed to have created everybody and everything. Does this mean that God is admitting he got it wrong for eternity. Can't be a very good kind of God if he makes mistakes and thinks his work is worthless..

  • @chewiefrost-What is everlasting life? what is everlasting contempt? As you understand it.

  • @MrEmeraldfusion

Read what I said previously,"So everybody goes to heaven in the Christian tradition, it's just that some won't like it."

    Daniel says,

But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt."

Which is more or less what I said. The verse doesn't mention Heaven or Hell.

  • @chewiefrost-Just because you can trace a concept to another religion doesn't mean it's necessarily false. The Jewish scriptures do not explicitly talk about Hell however, it does reference there being an eternal judgement (Daniel 12:1-3)

  • The concept of Hell came from the Zoroastrians, another religion. Even Christ himself would not have known of Hell as it was not, and is not part of the Jewish tradition. So everybody goes to heaven in the Christian tradition, it's just that some won't like it.

Most of the nastier bits taught in churches today came from religious zealots trying to exert some kind of control over others. A lot of crappy dogma came from religious tent shows that toured around during the American depression.
