I extended my follow action sequencer into a series of different length slots, starting off with the 4 then 2 then 1 for the 4/4 style clips, then added 3, 5 and 6 as well as 8 steps.
These sequences can be triggered to experiment with interesting poly rythms using ableton and any drum rack. In this instance I'm sending the midi to my novation drum station.

Add something like a novation launchpad to start the different length clips and you have yourself a world of fun.

  • looks cool, but i don't get the point of using follow actions on muted midi clips instead of just doing the actual sounding clip as long as you need .. ( 1/2, 1/4 1/8 etc .. )

just for a visual feedback ?

  • @ksircat yeah visual feedback and starting off beat but still quantized

  • @thisisnotlondon, you can still set to "none" the quantize launch of midi clips that are looping at different lengths and have the same result without lot of muted clips

  • The use of blank midi clips means you can start a rhythm off time

  • pretty cool bro!
