7 Layer Density - Cool Science Experiment

Thats because the two liquids have different densities. Density is basically how much stuff is smashed into a particular area or a comparison between an objects mass and volume. So, the exact same volume of two liquids may actually have different masses, so they would have different densities. Thats why vegetable oil floats on top of water.

Dear Steve,

I was wondering if you could use some of your "True Colors" tablets to color the water, rubbing alcohol, etc.

My parent's have decided to never buy me food coloring again (Let's just say there were some big messes.)

I also think those tablets are pretty cool ^_^

Some liquids are light are some are heavy, you just need to arrange. Put the heavier liquid at the bottom while the lighter one is on top. I dunno what liquids u can use, but i only know e.g. water and oil.
