Wrote a song for my Sister in Arms, but to all my battle brothers

I could have chosen to be weak, I couldve chosen not to speak
It wouldve spared me so much pain
I couldve digested the lie, regurgitated alibies and smiled
all the while betrayed

I didn't choose to bear this cross, I didnt choose to join the lost
But I must suffer just the same
How can you choose to close your eyes and slip away to paradise
how can you choose to turn away?

I dont have all the answers, Oh but I know that's okay
You cant say I dont love you , I just wont be treated that way
And its so hard, not to hate you, for being afraid
But Im here trying to reach you, so what does that say?

I know some day youll taste the air, I only hope I will be there
to hear you laugh after you breathe
and all your days under the clouds will simply dissappear somehow
and youll be glad to see them leave
I can only show you so far, and take you slow to spare you harm
yet you might be too atrophied
next time you peer at yourself think, may it be yet the time to drink
and maybe see what they all see.

Well (chorus)

What does it say? (repeat)

  • GREAT job! The song/voice/music rock! Really touching. (and when you said "that makes me laugh" at the beginning I fell out....lol) Is anyone in the VAA trying to put all of your talents together? You guys should get an album/book/documentary together. Prolly enough exdubs out there would LOVE it!... great vid! ("wassup" to J.)

  • @SomeStylistGuy Aww shucks! Thanks! Yeah, make JWs think they're being persecuted and BOOM they never shut up about it. .. brilliant. Ya know, I think a VAA album would be sweet. Or at least a huge concert on JDay, to go along with all that meat. :) I ll tell Jess you said Whatsup- Peace

  • I keep coming back to listen... Ty for putting this up!

  • @akashafuhr I'm glad you like my tunes. It's a catchy one isn't it? Feel free to do with it what you will and brag that you inspired it :P It was a privilege to write it for you.

  • this is more then great love it!!! wowzer!

  • Ash, I want this on mp3.

  • You are, what you believe you are.

  • The VAA??? Ooops, you must be either "fading" or have recently left the religion... I feel very sad that you're having to deal with "flack" - wish there was something I could say to make it all better...I've been "out" for 25 years, DA'd myself and never - NEVER - caught ANY grief about it - but then, my parents hated me all along and couldn't wait to get rid of me anyway... Good music and Lyrics!!!

  • Wow! =)

  • @Ribcagehacksaw I hear you. Leaving a stresfull environment like the JWs often makes you a rebel for awhile. You're acting more provocatively as you have been feeling yourself as an outsider long before with your questions and everything. And I you have a strong individual personality, that's even more fuel for the fire. You're doing fine.
