  • What..... . . . ART was constructed in the mid 18th century. It was a reaction to artisan craft work. It gave reason and purpose to creations in and of themselves, not for a patron or a purpose. It was largely about the idea of Genius, separate from reworking and craftsmanship.

Art was established in the western world, the chinese had no word for art. I wonder if this guys ever read a history book.

  • shit

  • I love his painting but I do not agree with his color theory. Colors can be mixed together to make a brighter color. He says you can't do that and to use the tube.. however the tube is mixed with various colors to get to that color pigment. if you want to make green brighter just add a little of yellow... experiment and create.. by the way I can create the same effect with spray paint..

  • Bad advice.

  • Interesting. I would not necessarily agree about the difficulty of creating bright colours by mixing two hues together. Primarily because I have mixed multiple non-neon colours and to my surprise created a neon-green in the end using basic primary and black + white acrylic paints. I did however find his understanding of the word "Art" quite interesting. I would not stop at the verb though. There is far more to be covered!

  • i agree with you about that, hes inconsistent.

  • i agree your color theory is confusing, but judging by the painting behind you, you know what your doing.

  • I disagree with what you say about colour mixing!
