MUSLIM AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS GUILTY AS CHARGED

Convicted of plotting terrorist acts on Australian soil following the country's longest trial have been jailed, 5 un-named men all Muslims from Sydney, who are Australian citizens of Lebanese, Libyan and Bangladeshi descent, were handed maximum terms of 23 to 28 years, with the shortest non-parole period being 17 years and three months. The court was shown more than 3,000 exhibits and heard from about 300 witnesses during the trial lasting 10 months. All five had spent months collecting chemicals, firearms and ammunition. Large quantities of literature supporting indiscriminate killing, mass murder and martyrdom in pursuit of violent jihad were found in raids on their homes. The jury was not asked to view footage of hostages being executed by Muslim extremists.
