Prior to their 2011 U.S. tour, Royal Danish Ballet dancers performed excerpts at Works & Process, the performing arts program at the Guggenheim. Artistic Director and former New York City Ballet principal Nikolaj Hübbe shared his vision for the company in a conversation with John Meehan, Professor of Dance at Vassar College. Dancers performed highlights from August Bournonville's The Jockey Dance, La Sylphide, A Folk Tale, and Bournonville Variations, plus Nikolaj Hübbe's new staging of Napoli, and Jorma Elo's Lost on Slow.
Please release more Bournonville on DVD...

The Royal Danish Ballet has a responsibility to uphold the classical technique of August Bournonville, because if they don't do it, who will? No one else is going to do this. The world of classical ballet cannot afford to lose this part of its history. It must be preserved!
And Nikolaj Hubbe is yummy! :-D
